Privacy notice
Who we are. Kompanies (kompanies.co.uk) is operated by Paras Saxena, trading as Kompanies, England — the data controller for this site. Contact: hello@kompanies.co.uk.
What we publish. Company names, numbers, registered office addresses, SIC codes, filing dates and the names and roles of officers, exactly as published on the public official register under the Open Government Licence v3.0. Our lawful basis is legitimate interest in making a public register easier to browse. We do not publish officers' dates of birth, residential addresses or any data that is not on the public register.
Your rights. If you are an officer named on this site and believe a record is inaccurate, correct it with the registrar and our copy updates within a day. To ask us about your data, email hello@kompanies.co.uk.
Reminder subscribers. If you sign up for deadline reminders we store your email address, the company number you chose, a hashed IP and timestamps, and we send only the confirmation and reminder emails described on the sign-up page. Lawful basis: consent, confirmed by the link you click. Every email carries a one-click unsubscribe; unsubscribing stops all sending. Emails are delivered via Resend (EU region). To delete your data entirely, email hello@kompanies.co.uk.
Visitors. We keep standard server logs (IP address, pages requested) for 30 days for security. We set no tracking cookies. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics and Microsoft Clarity to understand how the site is used (pages viewed, clicks, scrolling, anonymised session replays with all typed text masked). Neither sets cookies on this site. We also keep a first-party log of page views and clicks tied to a random session id that is discarded when you close the tab.
Claimed pages and enquiries
If you claim a company page, we store your name, email address and the details you add (including your logo, which is kept on our server), and we compare your name with the public register of directors. If you send an enquiry through a claimed page, we email your name, email address and message to that company and keep a copy for 12 months in case of problems. We never sell enquirers' details.
Launch notifications
If you ask us to tell you when "Claim this page" or the Company Check launches, we store your email address, the company and offer you asked about, the wording you agreed to and a short hash of your IP address. We use it to send you one email when that offer launches, and nothing else. Email hello@kompanies.co.uk at any time and we'll delete it.
What we never collect
- Card numbers or bank details. Payments go straight to Stripe; we only receive a customer reference and the plan you chose.
- Passwords. There are no accounts to log in to; your account page is reached through a private link in your email.
- Officers' dates of birth or home addresses, even where they could be found elsewhere.
- Advertising identifiers, tracking cookies or your precise location.
- What you type into forms. Session replays mask every input, and our own event log never records form contents.
- Your raw IP address in our event log. We keep only a short hash that changes every day.
We never sell, rent or share the email addresses of subscribers or customers.
How long we keep things
Server logs are kept for 30 days and then deleted. Our first-party log of page views and clicks is deleted automatically after 90 days. Reminder subscriptions are kept while they are active; after you unsubscribe we keep the record, marked as unsubscribed, so that we never email you again, and we delete it entirely if you ask. Customer and billing records are kept for as long as the subscription runs and afterwards for as long as UK tax and accounting rules require. Session replays are held by Microsoft under its own retention period for Clarity.
